Introducing...Willow!
Totally Diggin' the Veggies
Today I took a vacation day, because I knew I would need some unwinding time. We got in late Saturday, we drove a lot Sunday, and I just knew I wouldn't be ready to face work today. So I woke up early (around 4am, thankyouverymuch), put away 4 loads of laundry, played with the new kitty (more on that later), and went to the grocery store. We had missed the last two weeks of the farm, but we still had plenty that hadn't gone bad in the fridge. So I did a massive cook-fest of the veggies...
And here we have, pre-cooking...Swiss chard au gratin
Kohlrabi stuffed with free-range beef and onions (I'm not sure whether or not the onions are free range...I don't care, really, because I don't think they need that much space...) - as another non-vegetarian move, these will be topped with slices of bacon before going in the oven. I had more stuffing than kohlrabi, so I made some stuffed peppers, too.
Stuffed swiss chard - totally veggie - filled with basmati rice, cheeses, onion, spices, pecans...lots of goodness.
I could get used to just cooking all day. Kind of.

I Love My Shower
We're back!
As you can see from previous posts, Joe and I spent a week in arguably one of the most beautiful places on earth, Tuscany. More specifically, Villa Aquilea, a home renovated by two Americans who now live in Lucca. All I can say is the pictures on the website do NOT do it justice.
We had a glorious week - a perfect vacation - until we landed in New York. Tack on a couple of hours of hell, and we were so glad to see our driver when we exited the airport. Worth. Every. Penny. We zonked out last night, started doing laundry this morning, and now are one a mini-road-trip to pick up our new little girl.
Mega-pictures to come! Ciao!

A Kitty Grows in Brooklyn
I haven't blogged about this, since I've been working on Joe for a bit. He's been reluctant, but he also knows there's no use arguing when you see this.
She was found in the Bronx, eating trash, when a Raveler with a heart of gold found her, treated her, had her fixed, and is holding her until she can find a better home. And that's where we come in...since I've been thinking that Otis and Dobby need someone to difuse their hatred of each other.
We pick her up next Sunday.
:)

But What About the Clydesdales?
And there goes another empire...
Kinda sad, really.
ETA: According to this article, my particular company will most likely be sold. The good news: I'm so far below the radar that I'm not sure it matters, other than stuff like benefits. The bad news: I might as well update the resume. I haven't looked at it in six years. Anyone need an accountant...?

Totally Unmotivated...
I should be busy. Very busy. Making lists and cleaning house and going crazy. At the very least, I should be doing dishes and laundry.
But I'm not. It's 3pm, and I'm having a glass of wine and listening to this.

Plenty Blogworthy but no Blogging Skillz
Yeah. So. I'm a bum. A doofus. Lots of fun things are going on, but no blogging.
Visits from friends, a kickass July 4th party, and a new little girl (of the feline variety) possibly on the way. But do I blog about it? Of course not.
Cuz I'm a loser.
