It started off as dry, hacking, ick, but it has now progressed to There's Something Clinging To The Back Of My Throat, And If I Could, I'd Stick A Coathanger Down There To Fish It Out.
Ahem.
So I've resorted to Mom's cough remedy. Equal parts bourbon and honey, dash of lemon juice. Anyone who knows me, knows that I loves me some bourbon. But when you combine it with honey and lemon juice...?
Think of the worst, barfiest cough medicine you had as a child. That's what it tastes like.
But the shit works.
I spoke with my mom today, who laughed when I mentioned I'd gone to "the remedy." She recalls giving it to my older brother several times a day for a while...before she realized he only had allergies.
Moms of the 70's knew their shit. They were all about knocking us out and stopping the damn coughing.
While I hack away and go have another icky toddy, please enjoy some Dobby pictures. He's been by my side the whole time, only giving me halfway pissed-off glances when my coughing jostles his peace.

better than my mom's coff remedy; which was a big white onion sliced thin and coated with sugar till it made syrup. i guess scientist now report that onions are anti bacterial but ooh ugh that juice!
